Former Brigadier General Abdullahil Aman Azmi of the Bangladesh Army said on social media, ‘General Moin became the army chief for some unseen reason. He made this known on his Facebook account on Friday (July 4) night.

Abdullahil Aman Azmi wrote, ‘We promote many things without knowing, which is not desirable. Many people say – I (Azmi) was supposed to become the army chief in 2005. Instead of me, General Moin was made. This is 100% fabricated and imaginary. In the army, along with qualifications and skills, seniority is a very important consideration.’

He wrote, ‘In 2005, I was promoted from Colonel to Brigadier General. At that time, there was no question of me becoming the army chief. The three army chiefs after General Moin – General Mubin, General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan and General Belal, are all my seniors.

He further wrote, “If I had not been illegally dismissed and if the army had not been politicized, then perhaps my name would have been considered after General Belal according to seniority.”

Aman Azmi Said

Many people are posting/commenting that General Moin was given the responsibility of the army chief instead of the released former DG DGFI General Razzaku Haidar. This is also 100% wrong. This “Razzaku” Haidar received the commission in 1977 with the 5th short course of the Bangladesh Military Academy. There was no question of him becoming the army chief in 2005.

The smart General Razzaku Haidar, who received the commission from the Pakistan Military Academy in 1971, was supposed to become the army chief in 2005. His name and picture were also published in some newspapers. He is three years senior to General Moin and six years senior to General Razzaku Haidar.

Finally, he said, “I hope to post General Razzaku Haidar’s picture soon.” Rad More
