Putin’s promise: Russia pledges military support to Iran
Russian President Vladimir Putin told Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi that the aggression against Iran is baseless. Putin made the remarks at the beginning of talks with Araghchi in the Kremlin and said that Russia is ready to help the Iranian people. Al Jazeera reported.
Meanwhile, thanking Putin for condemning the US attack on Iran, Araghchi said that Russia has taken a “correct historical stance.” Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Massoud Peshmerga also congratulated Putin on the incident.
Earlier, Russia described the US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities as a “clear violation of international law.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry made the remarks in a statement on Sunday, Al Jazeera reported. The statement said that this irresponsible decision to launch missiles and bombs on the territory of a sovereign state.
